County Can Now Place Museum Referendum On Ballot The fate of the Peoria Riverfront Museum could now lie in the hands of Peoria County voters. Thursday Governor Rod Blogojevich signed a bill which allows the Peoria County board to place a sales tax referendum on the ballot which if passed would fund a portion of the planned Museum. Springdale Cemetery creek and hillsides more river friendly thanks to grant A state grant used to help restore areas of Springdale Cemetery has ended and officials showed off what work was completed Thursday. Springdale Manager Pat Lewis says the cemetery received $280,000 to help stop silt from running down Turkey creek and into Peoria Lake.One of the ways to do this was by having engineers change the creek to stop runoff from occurring. Komen Office To Temporarily Move Following Metro Centre Fire A specific cause has yet to be determined regarding the fire which started in a back room of Fitness For Women Tuesday at Peoria Metro Centre.
